The final program is still being arranged, but the Ballarat Conference will include presentations from authors of the two CSIRO books which were published as part of the 150th anniversary of the Burke and Wills Expedition.

Burke and Wills: The Scientific Legacy of the Victorian Exploring Expedition
Edited by Associate Professor Bernie Joyce and Dr Doug McCann of the University of Melbourne was released in November 2011. It has been the CSIRO's best selling book and has been nominated for numerous awards.

The Aboriginal Story of Burke and Wills: Forgotten Narratives
Edited by Professor Ian Clark and Dr
Fred Cahir of the University of Ballarat is due for release in July 2013.

There will be a keynote speaker who will address the Conference at the opening address, and a notable Australian historian as the after-dinner speaker at the Conference dinner on Friday night.

Registration is now open, with generous discounts for early bird registrations. In addition, abstracts are now invited for oral presentations, posters or display presentations from any interested parties.
